Comment / Fantastic winter sunlight and a gloomy backdrop - always makes for a great photo.

Comment / Just about to touchdown on runway 25 inbound from Malaga.

Comment / Named Vignoble de Bergarac, or the Vineyards of Bergarac.

Comment / Originally an Ansett machine, this 737 was delivered as Jet2's third aircraft in March 2003.

Comment / My first photo of a Jet2 Boeing 757, this example being of Air Holland heritage, to whom it was first delivered as PH-AHF in 1988. Looking its serial up on the web, I make Jet2 to be it's ninth operator!

Comment / Some trivia! Did you know... that this particular Boeing 737 debuted as first series -800 for Britannia Airways in March 2000 (delivered as G-BNYB), later debuting (whilst on lease to Hapag Lloyd as D-ATUB) as the first aircraft to wear the new Hapagfly.com colours introduced in April 2005?

Comment / After some severe storms across Europe during the week, the winds seem to be hanging around in the UK, with Newcastle experiencing moderate gusts of 48 knots this morning. Fortunately it was more of a headwind than a crosswind, but it still made for some tricky approach conditions...

Comment / This 737 started her career in the UK with British Midland as G-OBMB, before joining Ansett Australia as VH-CZW in 1993. She is now back on the British register where she started, flying for Jet2.

Comment / Departing away from Newcastle's runway 25, destination Aberdeen.

Comment / My first glimpse of the new Eastern colours - a great improvement over the old scheme! As it happens, it was on this aircraft, G-MAJL, that the new livery first appeared last month.

Comment / The first KLM arrival of the day into Newcastle - flight 957 from Amsterdam.
